Espoo, Finland - Cell phone maker Nokia on Monday announced results of a survey of mobile phone gamers that found 80% play at least once a week, 34% play every day, and the average mobile gaming session is 28 minutes in length.

London - Forty-three percent of those who watch video online or on mobile device at least once a week said they watch less TV as a result, according to a survey of 2,070 Britons conducted by ICM on behalf of the BBC, Reuters reported.

New York - Songs by the Beatles may soon be available for purchase on Apple's iTunes Store, according to Fortune magazine. Citing a music industry executive apprised of the talks, details of the deal are still being worked on -- such as the amount of an advance to be paid to the Beatles, and how long any iTunes exclusivity for the band's catalog would last.

Report: "Black Friday" Online Shopping Sees Slower Growth This Year

New York - The number of Internet users shopping from their home computers on "Black Friday" increased 12% this year compared with 2005, according to new figures released by Nielsen/NetRatings. This was lower than the 29% increase seen between 2004 and 2005, and closer to the 11% growth between 2003 and 2004.

Vivi Zigler, Executive Vice President, NBC Digital Entertainment and New Media announced two promotions at NBC.com. Stephen Andrade was promoted to Senior Vice President, Digital Development and General Manager. Andrade had been Vice President, Interactive Development for NBC.com since 1999. He will continue to report to Zigler.

Alcatel vs. Microsoft - What's Really Going On

With last week's announcement that Alcatel is suing Microsoft over patent infringement, a new chapter in the complex and decaying relationship between the two industry giants has startedi. According to Alcatel, it is simply protecting its intellectual property. According to Microsoft, the suit is merely related to its dispute with Lucent over X-Box video processing.

Is either company being completely honest? Of course not! In Alcatel's case, it is an error of omission; in Microsoft's, it is an error of legitimacy.
