Vivendi's Sierra Releases "Ice Age 2: The Meltdown" for Wii

Los Angeles - Vivendi Games' Sierra Entertainment on Tuesday shipped its "Ice Age 2: The Meltdown" title for the Nintendo Wii -- based on the 20th Century Fox film -- to retailers. Versions of the game for PlayStation 2, Xbox, DS and other platforms have so far sold over 1.3 million units, Vivendi said.

Activision's "MTV's Pimp My Ride" Game Ships to Retailers

Minneapolis - Activision Publishing on Tuesday released its "MTV's Pimp My Ride" title for PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360. The game features the voice and likeness of show host Xzibit, as well as several tracks from the hip-hop artist's recently released album.

Electronic Arts Releases "Fight Night Round 3" for PS3

Redwood City, Calif. - Electronic Arts announced on Tuesday that it has shipped its "Fight Night Round 3" title for PlayStation 3 to retailers. Developed by EA Canada, the game is also available for mobile phones.

GameSweet Ships "Video Game Tycoon" Game-Building PC Title

Greenwood, Maine - GameSweet Software on Tuesday announced the release of its "Video Game Tycoon" PC game, which allows players ages 10 and up to create their own video games and burn a copy of the finished product to CD or DVD. Tools provided include elements of racing games, tank battles, aliens, paintball contests and puzzles.

Liemandt Foundation Posts Educational Game Contest Titles Online

Austin, Texas - The Liemandt Foundation, a nonprofit that operates the "Hidden Agenda" educational video game development contest for college students, announced that winning games from the past years of the contest are now available online for play by middle school students. The betas versions of the games teach school subjects like science and math. The winning collegiate development team that created each title was awarded $25,000 from the contest.

Zinio Adds 50 Titles to Digital Magazine Service

San Francisco - Zinio Systems, a publisher of digital versions of magazines and newspapers, announced on Tuesday that it has added 50 new consumer titles in 10 countries. New titles launched in the U.S. include Men's Health, Penthouse, The Advocate and Out. San Francisco-based Zinio publishes digital versions of over 400 titles from more than 100 publishers worldwide.

VH1 Debuts Made-for-Mobile Series, "Celebhead"

Hong Kong - Outblaze on Tuesday introduced OutblazeVideo, a Web-based multimedia editing and sharing application for telcos and portals. The white label service features a customizable interface, search capability, sharing tools and multilevel metadata indexing. Hong Kong-based Outblaze said the first deployment of the service is on the official website of Hello Kitty, SanrioTown.com.

Musicrypt to Expand Secure Industry Service to U.K., Europe

London - Musicrypt, a provider of a secure, Web-based music delivery system between record labels, radio stations and others in the music industry, announced that it has partnered with London-based Adstream to market its service in the U.K., Europe and Australia. ATO Records, Barnaby Records, Blind Pig Records, Ecstatic Peace and KOCH Records will add thousands of new songs to IODA's 700,000-track catalog, which is distributed through online retailers like iTunes.

The player was released in the fall and is tightly integrated with the company's Rhapsody digital music service.
