Authored by Mark Hefflinger on February 13, 2008 - 1:47pm.

San Francisco - A Russia-based website called Tagoo that is "as easy to use as iTunes" and offers "virtually any copyrighted music downloads for free" is starting to gain attention overseas, and was on Tuesday's hotlist on social bookmarking site del.icio.us, Wired.com reported. The site is completely in Russian, save for the English-language artist and song titles, but features a simple design similar to Google's home page. Songs are not hosted by Tagoo; rather, the site links to song files on third-party servers. Tagoo has sprung up in the wake of Russian and U.S. authorities' efforts to clamp down on sites like the now defunct AllofMP3.com, which sold cheap MP3s without proper licenses from copyright owners.
