Burbank, Calif. - Warner Bros. Television Group (NYSE: TWX) announced on Thursday that it has signed deals to syndicate content from its new ad-supported TheWB.com and KidsWB.com broadband sites through video distributors Dailymotion, Joost, Sling Media, TiVo and Veoh. The partner channels are slated to launch in mid-September, and offer full-length episodes. The deals follow similar video syndication pacts with AOL and Facebook. Warner Bros. said it also plans to launch original series on TheWB.com, including "Sorority Forever," produced by McG and Big Fantastic.

Los Angeles - Metallica have blamed their management company Q Prime for asking bloggers to take down their reviews of rough mixes of the band's new album -- bloggers who were invited to a listening party to hear said tracks, according to a post on Metallica.com. "Our response was 'WHY?!!! Why take down mostly positive reviews of the new material and prevent people from getting psyched about the next record... that makes no sense to us!' So after a few rounds of managerial ear spank and sentencing everyone at Q Prime to 20 push-ups each, we figured why not take matters into our own hands and just post the links here on our site."

Los Angeles - Mobile video developers Flixwagon and Qik are separately working on applications that will stream video from an iPhone, according to various reports. Both solutions will use the iPhone's built-in camera, and both are currently available only for jailbroken iPhones. The applications currently support limited video quality, but allow users to post videos to various sites, including YouTube.

Culver City, Calif. - Emmy-winning actor Brad Garrett ("Everybody Loves Raymond," "'Til Death") will star in an online reality dating series hosted on Sony's (NYSE: SNE) Crackle video site, the company said. "Dating Brad Garrett" will ask women to upload their video applications online, which will then be reviewed by a panel including Garrett's ex-wife and urologist. The series is set to premiere in the fall on Crackle.com; it will also be syndicated via YouTube, AOL, Hulu, Verizon's V CAST, AT&T Wireless and Internet-connected Sony Bravia TVs.

Paris - French wireless carrier Orange on Thursday debuted Musique Max, an unlimited PC and mobile full-track download service. Featuring tracks from all four major labels and independents including Believe and Scorpio Music, the service will cost subscribers 12 euros (about $18.54) per month. Orange claims 7.5 million broadband and 7 million 3G mobile service subscribers.

San Francisco - Seventeen-year-old YouTube bedroom songwriter Bo Burnham is set to release his first six-song EP on Comedy Central Records next week, Wired.com reports. Burnham first began posting humorous videos of himself playing songs in his bedroom, such as "My Whole Family (Thinks I'm Gay)," in December 2006. Following the release of "Bo Fo' Sho," Burnham will be entering college at New York University in the fall.

Washington - Persian American Media (PAM), a provider of online television and radio programming that runs Pam TV, said that it will sell a majority interest in the company to Los Angeles-based Zcom Networks, a provider of telecommunication products and services. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Zcom, known until last year as Group Seven Communications, offers services such as Voice-over-Internet Protocol (VoIP), long distance and pre-paid wireless.

New York - After receiving scant support from cable TV networks, eBay (NASD: EBAY) has shut down its Web-based TV exchange after just over a year in operation, Adweek reports.

Sunnyvale, Calif. - Shares of Yahoo (NASD: YHOO) plunged 10% on Thursday after the company announced that its acquisition talks with Microsoft (NASD: MSFT) have concluded without a deal. The company, however, is reportedly close to announcing a search deal with Google (NASD: GOOG), according to several sources.

Los Angeles - The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has recently begun increasing its settlement amount offers to students who refuse to immediately settle and instead file motions or take the RIAA to court to challenge charges they illegally shared music online, Ars Technica reported.

San Francisco - A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed by major label Universal Music Group against a California man who sold promotional CDs from the label on eBay. U.S. District Court Judge S. James Otero ruled that the promo CDs are gifts distributed by UMG, as they are mailed free and unsolicited to thousands of people -- including music journalists and radio stations -- without any expectation or intention of their return.

Washington - A federal court has asked video game publisher Take-Two Interactive (NASD: TTWO) to explain why it has so far refused to comply with a subpoena from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), requesting more information from the company as part of its review of a takeover bid from rival Electronic Arts (NASD: ERTS), The Wall Street Journal reported.
