Calif. - Confirming recent
reports, Disney (NYSE: DIS) has signed a deal licensing clips of its ESPN and Disney/ABC
television programming to Google's (NASD: GOOG) YouTube. Disney will sell ads against the
sub-five-minute videos and split revenue with YouTube. The ads will for now
consist of displays and video overlays, though Variety notes that Disney is
expected to eventually add pre-roll ads.

- Dallas Mavericks owner and entrepreneur Mark Cuban was fined $25,000 by the
NBA over comments he made about basketball officials on Twitter, PEHub.com
reported. The outspoken Cuban has racked up nearly $2 million in NBA fines to

Calif. - Google (NASD: GOOG) has decided to
shutter its AdSense video units feature, which allowed users to show YouTube
content and ads on their websites. "We've found that it hasn't had the
impact we had hoped for. As a result, we've decided to retire this feature at
the end of April so we can focus our resources on other opportunities to help publishers
earn from their sites," the company wrote in a blog post. Publishers will
still be able to add YouTube videos, but will have to embed them directly from
YouTube.com. Google also recently shuttered its Radio Ads and Print Ads
programs.

- Matchmaking website eHarmony on Tuesday launched CompatiblePartners.net, a
separate gay matchmaking site the company was ordered to create as part of the
settlement of a discrimination lawsuit filed by the New Jersey Attorney
General, the Los Angeles Times reported. The company's flagship eHarmony site
had a policy of rejecting submissions from gay singles. As part of the
settlement, the company must make a "good-faith commitment" to
promoting Compatible Partners.

Entertainment (NASD: TKTM), whose proposed $2.5 billion merger with Live Nation is currently
under antitrust review, said on Tuesday that Ticketmaster president and CEO
Sean Moriarty has resigned. "While we will miss Sean's leadership and
vision, we are confident that the management team in place, led by Irving
Azoff, will help Ticketmaster continue to grow and prosper," said

- U.S. Ringback tone sales are projected to climb 15% this year, to $235
million, according to a projection from performing rights organization BMI,
which represents songwriters and music publishers. BMI estimated that more than
10 million Americans currently subscribe to ringback tone services, which have
an industry-wide average penetration rate of around 4%.

- Time Warner (NYSE: TWX) and partner Getty Images on Tuesday launched the new Life.com, an
online incarnation of the now-defunct LIFE photo magazine. Life.com will allow
users to view 7 million images and share them on Facebook, Flickr and other
sites, print copies, and license usage rights from Getty Images. Users can also
create custom print magazines and books featuring the images, ranging in cost
from $6 to $89.

McLean, Va. - Gannett's USA Today, said on Tuesday
that Craig Moon will retire as its president and publisher of the newspaper in
mid-April. Moon, who has been with Gannett for more than 23 years, has spent
the past six years in charge of USA Today, which is the top-selling newspaper
in the U.S.
He also supervises USA Weekend, the Detroit Media Partnership, Gannett Offset
and the Military Times operation. Gannett has not yet named a replacement.

it is gearing up to go public, Palo Alto-based Facebook said on Tuesday that
CFO Gideon Yu is departing the social networking company. A person familiar

with "public company experience" for his replacement.

Port Washington, N.Y. - U.S. teens (ages 13-17) acquired 19%
less music in 2008 than they did a year ago, with CD purchasing down 26%,
download sales down 13%, and, surprisingly, tracks downloaded from file-sharing
networks down 6%, according to a survey conducted by market research firm NPD
Group. "While we expected to see the continued decline in CD purchasing
among teens in NPD's music tracking surveys, it was surprising to see that
fewer teens downloaded music from P2P sites or borrowed them from
friends," said NPD analyst Russ Crupnick.

2008, even growing 2.6% to $6.1 billion in the fourth quarter, according to a

record results.

million venture capital fund that it will be used to invest in early-stage
companies. "Economically, times are tough, but great ideas come when they
will. If anything, we think the current downturn is an ideal time to invest in
nascent companies that have the chance to be the "next big thing,"
and we'll be working hard to find them," the company wrote in a blog post.
