YouTube Ups Video Upload Size Limit From 1GB to 2GB

San Bruno, Calif. - Google's (NASD: GOOG) YouTube has increased the maximum size of video file that may be uploaded from 1GB to 2GB, keeping the maximum length of videos at 10 minutes, Mashable reported. The move should make it easier for publishers of HD video to post their content to the site.

Columbia Pictures Bringing "Uncharted" Video Game to Big Screen

Los Angeles - Sony's (NYSE: SNE) Columbia Pictures has secured rights to develop a movie based n developer Naughty Dog's "Uncharted" video game, VentureBeat reported. The Tomb Raider-like game is being adapted for the screen by Kyle Ward ("Kane & Lynch," "Hitman 2"), and produced by Avi Arad, Charles Roven and Alex Gartner.

Canada's Zip.ca Movie Rental Service Adds Roxio CinemaNow

Novato, Calif. - Sonic Solutions (NASD: SNIC) said on Friday that it has partnered with Canadian online video rental service Zip.ca, to make its Roxio CinemaNow download service available to Zip.ca subscribers. Zip.ca will offer movies and TV episodes that can be downloaded and watched on PCs; the service is also embedded on some consumer electronics.

EA Mobile Details Four Upcoming Movie Tie-in Games

Redwood City, Calif. - EA Mobile, the mobile division of game developer Electronic Arts (NASD: ERTS), said on Friday that it plans to launch four new movie-based titles later this year. The games will include "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," "G.I. Joe The Rise of Cobra," "Star Trek" and "X-Men Origins: Wolverine."

Sirius XM Passing Music Royalty Rate Hike on to Subscribers

The firm said that during the early evening hours, sites including ABC, CBS, the L.A. Times and AOL became nearly unavailable (down to nearly 10% availability).
