Thank You to Future of Television West Attendees

Authored by Ned Sherman on March 26, 2009 - 2:02pm.

Thank you to the 250+ participants at Future of Television West this week! We’ve received a lot of great feedback about the event and know that each and every one of you contributed to making it such a wonderful event.

We would like to extend a special thanks to all of our sponsors: Entertainment Technology Center @ USC, Macrovision, Move Networks, Davis Wright Tremaine, CEA, Parks Associates, Webcastr, Frank Magid Associates, CTM, Visual Effects Society, Producers Guild of America, Terpin Communications, NVPR, Social Radius, Mobile Monday, Mobile Excellence Awards, Web Television Week, Tubefilter, Billboard Publicity Wire, UCLA Anderson, EMF, and New York – Tokyo.

In the photo above, from left, Digital Media Wire CEO & Conference Co-Chair, Ned Sherman; FOX Broadcasting Entertainment President, Kevin Reilly; and ETC Executive Director, David Wertheimer.

In his keynote, Reilly was realistic about the challenges facing the industry telling attendees that television is not dying, but "we're drawing down old business before we can monetize new business," and that has to change. Citing progress Fox is making with Hulu and other digital businesses, he was positive and upbeat about the future saying this is a "great transitional time" for the television industry. There are challenges ahead, but "we're not the auto industry."

Don't Miss LA Games Conference, April 28-29, 2009!
