Allen, like many artists, started posting tracks on her Myspace site in November 2005, so she could gauge what people thought of her sunshine-friendly reggae pop. The response has been phenomenal. Listens on her Myspace site now are staggering, over 2,5 million and rising.
UTA agent Nikki Wheeler said to the Hollywood Reporter that it was not just Allen's musical, writing and other talents that attracted the agency but also her ability to build her fan base and engage them online. Allen’s most popular song “Little Things” have been played on her site over 800,000 times.
Allen had a short-lived deal with Warner Music, but she inked a new deal with Parlophone/EMI in December.
Lily Allen has been on my Myspace music play list for a good while now together with Brazilian Cansei de Ser Sexy, which happens to be touring with some other happening Brazilian bands in the U. S. right now and gather a lot of interest online. Check out both bands MySpace websites for tour information.
