Buzz Watch: TomKat and Steve Irwin

After being publicly “fired” by Viacom topper Sumner Redstone on account of the star's weird behavior allegedly leading to lower box office grosses than expected, Tom Cruise has gone to work on getting back into the media’s good graces. Today, he finally let the world see his and Katie Holmes’ baby daughter Suri, the world’s most anticipated baby photo, shot by top celeb photographer Annie Leibovitz on the cover of classy magazine Vanity Fair. To make sure of good press coverage in today’s gossip columns (and put rumors of trouble in paradise to rest) Katie topped it off by going out to dinner with her mother and Tom’s mother at LA hotspot The Ivy, hardly the place you go to hide out from paparazzi. Unfortunately for TomKat, according to Yahoo! Buzz, Internet surfers seem far more interested in searching for stories on The Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin, who was tragically killed by a stingray in a freak accident off the coast of Australia. Tom Cruise is desperate for good PR since he, according to media reports, is negotiating a new media deal with Yahoo! and shopping around for a new multimillion dollar movie deal.
