YouTube's Best of Show TV Commercials

Embedded below are thirteen (mostly) stellar TV commercials mentioned today on David Pogue's blog today, which the NY Times columnist discovered via Digg.com. In addition to Pogue's observation that these ads can serve as examples on how ad agencies can prevent viewers from instinctively bypassing commercials, I think these ads can also serve as much needed creative inspiration for creators of TV shows and movies. Though not listed, two of my favorite "TV Shows" are commercials from Jack-in-the-Box and ESPN - now that's great entertainment value without having to risk wasting between 30 to 90 minutes! Both properties often offer commercials more engaging than the programs they sponsor.

Regarding the list below my favorites include: Honda "Mousetrap"; Carlton Beer; and Sony Bravia (which conjures many fond memories of walks with my wife through the streets of San Francisco).

My least favorite was Folgers' Happy Morning, as I found the happy yellow people to be utterly annoying. Click, watch, and enjoy!

Miller Beer Domino Commercial
