The Online Marketing Director will develop and oversee online marketing programs (e.g. audience development and retention) for Future US’s online products including GamesRadar.com, FutureSnowboarding.com and Maclife.com. The Online Marketing Director will be a major stakeholder on the Internet management team. Future will be launching and re-launching several online properties in 2007. Plans and produces Web features and special projects involving photographs, audio, video and text. Reports and writes original stories and story elements. Writes and edits news headlines and other display copy. Uses news judgment to edit arts, news and NPR program pages. Focus on arts coverage. Minimum three years’ experience in daily news (print or Web); expertise in daily coverage of national news or general news; independent news judgment; demonstrated excellence in news writing, copy-editing and headline-writing; experience working on a Web publication; experience with digital image editing; comfortable with a variety of computer systems and applications; experience covering the arts or demonstrable expertise or passion for arts and entertainment. Prefer experience as a multimedia storyteller; and proven excellence with still and/or video photography, video editing, audio production. Discovery Communications Launches Daily Video Webcasts

Silver Spring, Md. - Discovery Communications on Thursday announced the launch of a Discovery News service that will provide daily video webcasts on topics related to science, nature, health and travel. The site's first scoop was news of paleontologist Jack Horner's discovery of a baby triceratops skull in Montana. In addition to the video news webcasts, Discovery's new media initiatives include Discovery Mobile, a 24-hour mobile programming network designed specifically for portable platforms, set to launch in the third quarter of 2006.
