The broadcasting giant, Sinclair,is also on target by the global financial crises. Although there is a revival in the job market but still we need to save many small sector like broadcasting sector, it is very necessary. If US Govt. can go for bailout plan to save the General Motors, then it must come up with a rescue plan for Sinclair.

I am a computer technician and noticed that this site will hold competition scores for hours until someone comes along with a lower score.

A smart move for Google, it means More ads from the Music Industry in Google. It looks like a song on demand service. They are doing something to see what happens. This wont stop free downloads, this will help free downloaders to hear songs and later get them free. I still rely on ( LoggTV.com ) for music themed channels and free internet TV.

If any of the judges admitted to using Limewire, Mininova, or some other P2P program (And it's a fair bet that at least a few of them do, regularly) you can bet that the plaintiffs would be throwing a complete fit over it!
There is, in fact, a single organization these judges can belong to that is qualified to offer an opinion on matters of copyright law: The judicial branch of government. It is not possible to be unbiased and belong to ANY other organization significantly involved in copyright law, regardless of that organization's viewpoint on copyright.

Wow "The Swedish Court of Appeal rejected the defendants' conflict of interest claims, saying that membership in the associations would not bias their judgment." How wouldn't they have a conflict of interest. If they are members of anti-copyrite groups then of course they are going to want to stop them.

Hi there, i love writing poems/ lyrics and would like to know where i can post it so someone might stumble across them maybe oneday. If i have a backtrack, its alot easier for me to write lyrics, but what i mostly do, is write about experiences ive had etc, which is then more like a poem. Its a great passion of mine, and i love every single bit about music. i used to sing aswell, but nowadays, i dont have time to practise etc.

Heard about that amazon kindle and read its review in amazon. Amazon gives us the best purchases by the help of its reviews. Author Benjamin Rich decided to undertake a journey to a place he dubbed Whitopia. In the 1970s, there was a series of events called "White Flight," which consisted of a predominantly white set of people moved to suburbs to escape the inner cities. The suburbs are now starting to empty, and the same group of people, typically middle class, move to smaller towns, usually more rural areas, to escape the suburbs, and these areas were dubbed Whitopia by Rich. You can get it off Amazon in hardback for about $30, or for the Kindle for $10, less than any fax payday loan. However, getting a Kindle to read Whitopia might run you some easy cash loans.

Thanks for the insights. I think you make some interesting points. Here are a few other points:
The article says Leno hopes to reach "people "exhausted by kids, work and so on"" in part because he'll be serving up timely, topical issues. While that might be his aim, my view is that it won't last more than a year because: A) He's just not that funny; and B) People get so much timely, topical news that watching Leno will just be duplicate and boring to people who are "exhausted." I agree with the article on the point that TV will serve up more live broadcasts, but they'll have to be good to survive, and I don't believe Leno is good (that was my point when we talked--it was specific to Leno).
I do think the point about cost is a very interesting and good one--Newspapers have already gone through this shift, as news has gone from newspapers to the Internet, leaving advertising in newspapers a much diminished market. So the same might happen with network/cable TV as the article suggests, but it might happen in a different way because the media are very different. The article stops too soon, though (except for the last line of it): People have been talking about "convergence" for a long time, and those arguments suggest "TV with commercials" as we know it is being more influenced by the Internet than it is by TV networks. People forget that TV is a medium as well as the message that it sends. And if people don't like the medium (i.e. being tied to a TV anchored in their playroom or where-ever) and they don't like the message (i.e. advertisements while they're watching a show), then the game is up for TV. The current/future factors driving media today are: Portability (like a laptop), personalization (like how you personalize your google or yahoo or shopping pages), and real-time (like near instantaneous information from anywhere in the world, anytime). TV doesn't offer these.

I actually read somewhere that 60% of online players are female. This probably refers to the smaller online games. But I know there are girl MMO players. And I wouldn't be bragging about only playing with guys all day. You aren't expanding your horizon. I know lots of girl players who are way better then me. I hope the FTC provides some further clarification on this. The press release makes it seem like any "material relationship" or financial arrangement automatically constitutes a paid endorsement, but then they say each case has to be weighed on its own merit. This could be quite a chilling effect on internet advertising.

Last week, in Google Chrome is the New Firefox, and Firefox the new IE, I ranted a bit about how slow Firefox 3 (notably tab switching and the "awesome" bar") was on my Ubuntu 9.04 machine. Needless to say, I got some good feedback from that post and it prompted it me to do a few things. I've since been running both Firefox 3.5 as well as the Firefox 3.6 trunk code and can say that both are notably faster...

I would really like to see OnLive succeed but they should throw that money back at AT&T. It was not less than 3 weeks ago that AT&T submitted to the FCC that video games were not vital interest with broadband:

The CES convention is always a huge event, and creates a ton of new business as floods of tourists storm into Vegas. Surrounding businesses such as local Las Vegas bars always see a large influx of business.

I certainly agree with Facebook's Louise Clements "to avoid thinking about campaigns" when thinking about the integration of social media into business. I'm not sure that it is worth fighting the battle of "we're not a media company"! For better or worse Facebook and all the other platforms, while perhaps not "media" ARE part of the social media. Is there real purpose and value in trying to make this point of Facebook not being a media company?

Stephenie Meyer is a true master at her craft. The books were spectacular. Her writing style and descriptions might at time be lengthy but they suck you in so you can feel real emotions for her characters. I am sorry that the director, producers and editors butchered your splendid peace of literature. I know that there was a budget of $37 million but that does not excuse the directing and editing of this film. I was sorely embarrassed for Stephenie because she seems to be a trusting person who believed the hype of her director. As an educated adult and teacher who encouraged my students to read the books I can honestly say I feel let down. We were rooting for sequels but not at the expense of the integrity of the books

Some thought on two points in your article:
1. "It starts by listening. Find out what topics that your customers and potential customers care about and already talking about on platforms such as Facebook and Twitter. Then interject yourself in these conversations in an authentic and useful way."
It's impractical for companies to dip into a river to find something that may or may not be there at any given time when they can monitor and respond to relevant and direct consumer inquiries.
2. "Google and other search-marketing companies ultimately seeks to eliminate human beings (media agencies) from the tactical decisions when it comes to where to place marketing messages and decide budgets, so that they can focus on more strategic decisions instead."
Our model depends on the human factor. How better for consumers and businesses to get what they want when they want it than directly from each other?
InverSearch is a simple but powerful C2B, B2B and B2C communication tool. Instead of searching or posting, consumers send a single confidential inquiry that can reach multiple businesses simultaneously, locally, globally or anywhere in between. Businesses monitor and respond to consumer inquiries. Consumer inquiries are business alerts. Business responses are consumer results.
It makes more sense for businesses to deliver advertising in response to consumer inquiries, not in advance. No harm to search marketing companies. Highest possible conversion rate. Lowest possible CPA rate.

What were they thinking? Jagex have been using that technology since 2000 when Runescape started. Therefore, Paltalk can't even lift a finger at them. They did nothing.

Apple is starting to sound like Sony, where two (or more) competing ideologies threaten to drag the entire company down. Jobs needs to issue a set of objective, fair guidelines that apply across ALL content Apple sells on ALL of its storefronts. And yes, those guidelines need to come from His Steveness Himself, so that random lackeys in the App Store aren't left making judgment calls on the company's strategic direction.
This really is pretty outrageous; if you've seen the advance publicity for the NIN app, you'd probably agree that it was looking impressive as hell.
