Los Angeles - ABC said the high-definition programs it plans to begin offering online next month won't match the picture quality offered on cable or satellite HD, due to the high degree of compression it will employ to conserve bandwidth, TVWeek.com reported. The files of select episodes of shows like "Grey's Anatomy," "Lost," "Ugly Betty" and "Desperate Housewives" will be offered at 24 frames per second and be viewable on 1,280 x 720 screen resolutions. "Our main goal is to present the best quality experience to the consumer," Disney-ABC Television Group spokeswoman Karen Hobson told TVWeek.com. "We're not trying to compete with HDTV. New York - Bon Jovi has partnered with Ticketmaster to offer American Express cardholders who purchase tickets to shows on its upcoming tour a copy of its forthcoming album downloadable from Apple's iTunes Store. Tickets bundled with the album will cost an extra $9.99, the cost of a full-priced album on iTunes. Ticketmaster has done similar promotions with other artists, including Bob Dylan and Maroon 5. New York - Viacom's MTV Networks on Friday announced the launch of two new websites that will solicit user-generated content, some of which will end up on complementary TV shows. Viewers can upload videos of themselves dishing out "Yo Mamma" jokes at YoMomma.TV, and parody videos on any topic to ShortCircuitz.MTV.com. New York - Korean electronics firm LG has partnered with music business magazine Billboard on a contest that will equip teen music fans who are also talented writers with LG enV camera phones and charge them with writing concert reviews on blogs that will be hosted on Billboard.com, The New York Times reported. Thirty or so music bloggers will be selected for the Mobile Beat contest, and submit reviews through September, when visitors to the blogs will choose both three finalists and an ultimate winner, who will get a free trip for two to a Billboard Music Award show. Grand Rapids, Mich. - Spout, an online community for movie buffs that aims to create an alternative, grassroots promotion and distribution channel for filmmakers, announced on Friday that it has posted what it says is the first full-length movie on YouTube, "Four Eyed Monsters." Shanghai - Chinese online game developer and operator Shanda Interactive Entertainment announced on Friday that it has recently signed agreements to license its in-house developed titles "Woool" and "Crazy Kart" in Vietnam, and "Magical Land" and "Crazy Kart" in Hong Kong and Macao.
