Erlangen, Germany - The Fraunhofer Institute, developers of the MP3 format, on Thursday introduced a new MP3 streaming surround sound format for standalone Internet radios. The module allows 5.1 channel surround sound to be streamed to Web radio players. Herndon, Va. - Ruckus Network, a provider of legal campus media download services, announced on Thursday an agreement with Merit Network, which provides broadband access in Michigan colleges, to offer the Ruckus service for free to Michigan college students.
