Tokyo - NTT DoCoMo, the largest mobile network in Japan, on Monday introduced a new handset from Mitsubishi that features a motion sensor for use in controlling action in mobile games, Reuters reported. Set to ship next month in Japan, the D904i lets users swing the phone like a sword or tennis racket, similar to the remote for Nintendo's Wii video game console. Minneapolis, Minn. - Electronics and media retailer Best Buy announced on Monday that it has added HD Radio receivers to all of its 832 U.S. stores. Developed by iBiquity Digital, HD Radio allows terrestrial radio stations to offer digital signals alongside their traditional analog broadcasts. McLean, Va. - Looking to expand its 2008 election coverage, USA Today said that it struck a content sharing deal with The Politico, a newly launched political newspaper and website founded by a pair of former Washington Post journalists. Under the deal, the paper will feature selected stories from The Politico in print and online. USA Today stories also will occasionally appear in the pages of The Politico and their website. Los Angeles - Napster announced on Monday that Napster Japan -- a joint venture with Tower Records Japan -- will soon launch an over-the-air mobile music download service with NTT DoCoMo, Japan's largest wireless carrier. Silver Spring, Md. - BrainBox Enterprises, a creative media firm, said that it has raised an undisclosed amount in its first round of venture capital financing from private equity firm The Albermarle Group. It marks the first time in the company's nine-year history that it has accepted an outside investment, and coincides with BrainBox's recent internal restructuring. The company said that it will use the funds to expand its services, including its digital advertising platform. Under the deal, Westinghouse Digital will build and install displays at over 75,000 gas station pumps serviced by AdtekMedia's PumpTop TV narrowcast network, which deliver news content and advertising to consumers as they fuel their vehicles.
