Orlando, Fla. -- Eastman Kodak on Monday introduced its first system for the digital projection of full-length feature films, which uses proprietary Kodak software and the company's CineServer equipment. Kodak said commercial versions will be available worldwide beginning early next year. The company also said that Cinema Screen Media has purchased an additional 200 Kodak Digital Cinema advertising systems, which provide pre-movie digital ads in theaters. "We began our efforts in digital cinema by becoming a leading provider of systems that manage and project pre-show advertising. Now we're introducing systems that will allow exhibitors to manage and show full-length feature films," said Kodak senior vice president Eric Rodli.
