New York -- ThumbPlay, a New York-based start-up developing wireless entertainment services, announced that it has raised an undisclosed amount of venture capital financing from i-Hatch Ventures and Redwood Partners. The company also announced a partnership with hip-hop artist Jay-Z, through which it will offer concertgoers attending shows on the rapper's current tour to send $0.99 text messages that are then displayed on large video screens installed at concert venues. In addition to the "Holla at Ya Boyz" text message application, ThumbPlay offers delivery technology for ringtones, games and other wireless content, including streaming multimedia on 2.5G and 3G networks.
