Mobile Entertainment Firm Airmedia Gets Investment from Sierra Ventures

San Francisco -- Airmedia, a developer and publisher of mobile entertainment applications, announced on Wednesday that it has raised an undisclosed amount in a new financing round from Sierra Ventures. Founded in 2003, San Francisco-based Airmedia has developed skill-based multi-player games, social communities and online entertainment destinations deployed by mobile network partners including AT&T Wireless, Cingular, Verizon, Alltel and U.S. Cellular.
