Sirius Satellite Radio Plans to Add Data, Video Services
New York -- Sirius Satellite Radio announced on Monday that it has implemented technology to increase its network capacity by 25%, which will allow it to expand its subscription radio programming service to include data and video services. New York-based Sirius said future radios will be equipped with the new "hierarchical modulation" technology so they can receive the new data and video services, expected to launch in the second half of 2006. Sirius rival XM Satellite Radio already offers some data services to its four million subscribers, such as one that provides local traffic information. http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/050613/nym012.html http://www.siriusradio.com
