Menlo Park, Calif. - Peerflix, an online service that facilitates the trading of DVDs among its members, announced on Wednesday that it has raised $8 million in its second round of venture capital financing. Battery Ventures led the investment round, which also included follow-on investments from 3i and BV Capital. Launched in September, Menlo Park, Calif.-based Peerflix says its members are now offering over 100,000 DVDs for trade on its network, which charges members 99 cents for each DVD they trade directly with another member through the U.S. mail. The company will use the funds to develop new product offerings, scale its infrastructure and expand service to more North American customers.
