Electronic Arts to Produce Games Based on Fox TV's "The Simpsons"

Redwood City, Calif. - Video game publisher Electronic Arts announced on Wednesday that it has signed a long-term deal with Twentieth Century Fox Television and Gracie Films, for the rights to develop multiple video games based on the Fox TV series "The Simpsons." Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Redwood City, Calif.-based EA will work closely with writers on "The Simpsons" to create games for next-generation video game consoles. No launch dates for upcoming titles were provided. EA said that its Redwood Shores studio will be responsible for its Simpsons games; the studio also created EA's "From Russia With Love," "Tiger Woods PGA Tour," "The Lord of the Rings," "The Godfather" and "The Sims" titles.
