San Mateo, Calif. - Mobile entertainment publisher Glu Mobile announced on Tuesday that it has acquired iFone, a U.K.-based publisher of mobile games. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The purchase gives San Mateo, Calif.-based Glu the global rights to iFone's "Lemmings," "Atari Classics" and "Monopoly" mobile games, as well as the European rights to its "Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog". The deal "allows Glu to fully exploit iFone's exceptional sales and marketing force throughout Europe and adds considerable leverage to our extensive portfolio of intellectual property and compelling content, particularly in the U.S. and Southeast Asian markets," said iFone chairman David Ward.
