The Orchard Signs Licensing Deal with Harry Fox AgencyAuthored by dmw on May 10, 2006 - 3:45am.
New York - The Orchard, a digital distributor of independent label music, announced on Wednesday that it has entered into a licensing arrangement for full, permanent digital downloads with The Harry Fox Agency, which represents 1.5 million songs from over 28,000 music publishers for mechanical licensing within the U.S. "This licensing arrangement allows us to provide an important service to non-U.S. record labels for the mechanical licensing of U.S. digital music services," said Orchard CEO Greg Scholl. "Orchard-distributed labels can now relax knowing that their recordings are properly licensed, and that publishing royalties are accounted for and paid."
