A California state appeals court on Friday rejected Apple's bid to identify the sources of leaked product information that appeared on the web, ruling that bloggers and online reporters are entitled to the same protections as off-line journalists. The appellate panel also stated that Apple failed to exhaust other investigative options to uncover the leak sources prior to issuing subpeonas.
Given the suspicion that Apple employees provided the leaks, perhaps Steve Jobs should consider hiring a new Chief "We Have Ways of Making You Talk" Officer, which might be more efficient than going the court route.
