On2 Technologies Gets Patent for Video Optimization Technology
New York - On2 Technologies, a developer of digital video compression and streaming technologies, announced on Tuesday that it has been granted a patent for its video optimization technology. New York-based On2 said patent number 7,027,654 covers two separate decoding technologies that were first implemented in its TrueMotion VP6 and VP7 video compression technologies. On2's software is used by firms including Macromedia, AOL, Skype, Sony and XM Satellite Radio.
