Warner, Amazon Let Users Vote on Potential DVD ReleasesAuthored by Mark Hefflinger on May 30, 2006 - 1:27pm.
Burbank, Calif. - Warner Home Video announced on Tuesday the launch of DVD Decision 2006, a joint project with online retailer Amazon.com that will ask movie fans to vote on which Warner titles they want to see released on DVD. Warner and Amazon nominated 30 films from Warner Bros.' film library; the ten that receive the most votes will then be made available for pre-order on August 8. All of the chosen films will be re-mastered and feature added bonus features. Among the 30 titles nominated for DVD release are "Al Capone," "Cimarron," "April in Paris" and "The Man Who Loved Cat Dancing." Warner Home Video said its two previous DVD Decision polls drew more than a quarter million votes and sold nearly half a million units upon release.
