IPTV Copy-Protection Technology Firm Verimatrix Raises $8 Million
San Diego - Verimatrix, a developer of digital content protection technology for Internet-based TV services, announced on Thursday that it has raised $8 million in its latest round of venture capital financing. Crescendo Ventures led the investment round; Mission Ventures and Siemens Venture Capital also participated. San Diego-based Verimatrix provides its forensic watermarking, encryption and other copy-protection technologies to providers of IPTV services. The company will use the funds to expand its technology into new markets.
