Stockholm, Sweden - Stardoll.com, a site that lets girls dress-up and makeover virtual dolls, announced on Tuesday that it has raised $6 million in its second round of venture capital financing. Sequoia Capital led the investment round; previous investor Index Ventures also participated. Sweden-based Stardoll.com features over 330 celebrity dolls, including ones for Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Brad Pitt. A premium version of the service costs about $3 per month. The company said it counts 1.2 million weekly visitors and 900,000 members, and is adding close to 10,000 new members each day. It soon plans to launch a feature called MeDoll, which allows users to create a personalized doll whom they can dress with merchandise from a virtual store.
