IMAX 3D Version of "Superman Returns" Breaks Box Office Record
New York - The IMAX Corporation and Warner Bros. Pictures announced on Thursday that "Superman Returns: An IMAX 3D Experience" -- the first live-action feature to include scenes in the new IMAX 3D format -- broke the IMAX box office opening week record, taking in $6.83 million over the extended fourth of July weekend. The film averaged nearly $90,000 per screen domestically, and $68,000 internationally over the past week.
