New York - Nokia announced on Thursday that it has been named the primary provider of mobile multimedia services for the free Wi-Fi services currently being installed in 10 major New York City parks. The company said it will launch mobile multimedia services with local media partners during the summer, which will be accessible both from laptops and other portable devices with wireless LAN, such as the Nokia N80, N91 and Nokia 770 Internet Tablet. The free public Wi-Fi project is being deployed by New York-based WiFi Salon in locations including Central Park, Washington Square Park, Union Square Park and Battery Park.
