Fandango Names Chuck Davis as CEO; Sees Record Sales for "Pirates"

Los Angeles - Fandango, a provider of advance online movie ticket sales, announced on Monday that it has named Chuck Davis as its new chief executive officer. Davis previously served as president and CEO of Shopzilla (formerly BizRate), and president of e-commerce for Walt Disney Internet Group, and has been chairman of Fandango since January. Separately, Los Angeles-based Fandango said that online sales of advance tickets for "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" accounted for the company's best ever day-before-opening (July 6) and ticket-selling day (July 7), when it sold an average of nearly 10 tickets per second to the film.
