Los Angeles - Point Roll, a unit of publisher Gannett that develops rich media advertising delivery technology, on Monday announced a partnership with Fandango, a provider of advance online movie ticket sales. The deal will create online ads for movies that, when rolled over by a cursor, will reveal local showtimes based on zip code, and the ability to purchase advance tickets through Fandango. PointRoll's ad technology is employed by online publishers including Yahoo, MSN, AOL, Tribune Interactive, Knight Ridder and Gannett, and has previously been used by all the major movie studios.
