Redwood City, Calif. - Electronic Arts on Thursday announced the development of six new titles for the forthcoming Nintendo Wii game console, including new releases from its Madden NFL, Need for Speed, Harry Potter, Tiger Woods PGA Tour, SSX and The Godfather franchises. EA said the games will all take full advantage of the Wii's innovative controller, and that additional titles currently in development for the console will be announced in the coming months. Separately, Redwood City, Calif.-based EA announced that development has begun on "The Lord of the Rings, The White Council," an all-new roleplaying title for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and the PC. Scheduled to ship in late 2007, the game will feature an original storyline derived from J.R.R. Tolkien's novels.
