Real D to Install Digital 3D Systems in 150 Cinemark Theaters
Los Angeles - Real D, a developer of digital 3D cinema technology, announced on Monday that it has partnered with movie exhibitor Cinemark USA to equip up to 150 theater screens with Real D Cinema systems. Seventeen new Cinemark screens will be installed in time for the Real D release of Columbia Pictures' "Monster House" on July 21. Los Angeles-based Real D said the Cinemark deployment brings to 350 the total number of screens worldwide that are installing its digital 3D systems.
