NBC to "Guarantee" Viewer Engagement for Toyota Ads

Torrance, Calif. - Toyota Motor Sales announced on Friday that it has signed a first-of-its-kind agreement with NBC, whereby NBC will "guarantee" a specific level of viewer engagement for its TV shows. "Viewer engagement" will measure audience recall of elements within TV programs, which studies have shown correlates to viewers' retention of the programs' accompanying commercials. NBC has engaged IAG Research to conduct audience panel surveys to gauge how accurately show details are remembered.
