Waltham, Mass. - Panther Express, the New York-based provider of a high-performance, Internet content delivery network, has raised $6 million in a round of venture capital led by Greylock Partners. Founded in 2005 by Kevin Ryan and Dwight Merriman, the former CEO and CTO of online advertising technology firm DoubleClick, Panther Express maintains data centers "strategically placed around the globe… to speed content delivery from the fastest and most reliable point of presence at any place and time." The company officially launched its network five months ago, and counts video-sharing site Blip.tv and photo-sharing site Fotolog.com among its customers.
