Rolling Stones to Broadcast European Dates Live Over Paid Phone ServiceAuthored by Mark Hefflinger on July 28, 2006 - 12:46pm.
Los Angeles - The Rolling Stones have announced plans to offer fans the ability to call a toll-free number and pay a fee to hear live performances from their upcoming European tour. The Listen Live Now service was developed by tour promoter Live Nation, Creative Artists Agency and artist manager Marty Erlichman. Fans can dial 1-877-784-2777 and pay $1.99 per seven minutes to hear a live feed of the Stones concert on each night of their tour, which lasts through Sept. 3. European time zones will make for U.S. call-in times in the early afternoon to early evening. "It's a great thing for the artists," Erlichman told Reuters. "It's passive income, and they're helping fans enjoy the experience without affecting ticket sales." Los Angeles-based Listen Live Now said it has over 30 venues under contract, and is in negotiation with other venues and major artists.
