Washington - Alltel Wireless said on Thursday that it has signed a deal to become the first wireless carrier to give subscribers access to programming from XM Satellite Radio through their cell phones. Through the deal, Alltel subscribers will be able to gain access to audio streams of 20 XM music channels for an extra $7.99 a month. Information such as song title, artist and album will appear on compatible handsets. The application was developed by MobiTV, a provider of television and digital radio services for cellular, Wi-Fi and broadband devices.
