Cupertino, Calif. - In the midst of its internal investigation into accounting irregularities related to stock option grants, Apple said on Friday that it has received a delisting notice from the Nasdaq for failing to file its quarterly report on time. The company said that it will request a hearing to keep its listing. Apple announced in late June that it discovered accounting errors related to the issuance of stock option grants between 1997-2001. The company said that it plans to file its quarterly report following the completion of an investigation by a special committee of its outside directors.
