Thomson Signs Digital Cinema Firms to Use Watermarking Technology

Paris - Digital video equipment maker Thomson announced on Wednesday that its NexGuard digital cinema watermarking technology has been adopted by what the company estimates to be 75% of the server marketplace. The company said digital cinema server manufacturers including Doremi, GDC, QuVis and Tamedia are incorporating the technology to help prevent in-theater piracy of digitally-projected films.
