Ticketmaster: Over 1,000 Streisand Tickets on Resale Sites Invalidated

West Hollywood, Calif. - Ticketmaster announced on Tuesday that more than 1,000 tickets to Barbara Streisand's upcoming national tour that were purchased from Ticketmaster using stolen credit card information -- and later placed for resale on various websites -- have been invalidated. "With the Streisand tour the unusually high number of incidents of fraud has prompted us to issue this specific warning," said Ticketmaster president and COO Sean Moriarty. "We are working closely with law enforcement to identify the source of this fraud and prosecute to the full extent of the law." The company has posted on its website a list of the cancelled Streisand tickets to date, which will not be honored even if unwittingly purchased on resale websites by consumers. "The 'buyer beware' adage applies here more than ever," said Streisand's manager, Martin Erlichman.
