Apple has elected Google CEO Eric Schmidt to its board of directors. Schmidt also sits on Google's board of directors and Princeton University's board of trustees.

Jacques Natz
will join Hearst- Argyle Television, Inc. as Director of Digital Media Content. Natz is a veteran news director at some of the nation's top television stations, and previously was News Director at WTHR-TV, the NBC affiliate in Indianapolis. The appointment, effective October 2, was announced today, August 30, 2006, by Terry Mackin, Executive Vice President, who heads Hearst-Argyle's digital media initiatives.

Limbo 41414, a mobile entertainment company, announced the following new hires:

  • Laurel Skillman has joined the company as Senior Director of Marketing. Skillman will oversee all consumer and B2B marketing efforts for the company including strategy, branding and marketing programs.  Most recently, she led marketing for CNET’s Games and Entertainment
  • Danny Wright has been appointed Director of Business Development. Wright will forge strategic partnerships and promotions for the company. Most recently, Wright was General Manager of Media Vision International and Co-Founder of The Velocity Network.

Jamster, a mobile content and entertiainment subsidiary of VeriSign, appointed Boris Hageney as Vice President of North America. Hageney will be based in New York and oversee product, service, business development and marketing for the region, working closely with U.S. carriers, record labels and other content partners. Hageney will report to Jamster's Chief Operating Officer, Martin Ott.

Mobio Networks, a mobile lifestyle application company, announced the following new hires:

  • Paul Cushman has joined the company as Vice President of Business Development. Previously Cushman was VP of US Consumer Products for Neven, recently acquired by Google.
  • Marcia Kadanoff has joined the company as Vice President of Marketing. Kadanoff comes to Mobio from Firewhite, a marketing consulting firm she founded.
  • Adam Blum will head up the engineering team in the role of Vice President of Engineering. Most recently, Blum managed the server engineering efforts at Good Technology.

Buongiorno has announced the following restructuring of its executive management:

  • Fernando Gonzalez Mesones currently responsible for the business and operations of Buongiorno Group in Spain, Portugal, Mexico and South America - will manage the new region, Americas and Iberia, and will take up the role of President of Buongiorno USA
  • Burton Katz, who was the formerly responsible for the North America region, decided to leave the company.
  • Noelia Amoedo, previously Sales and Operations Manager for Buongiorno USA, will be the new US country Manager in the role of Vice President Buongiorno USA
  • Wayne Yurtin, CEO of Rocket Mobile, will report to Gonalez Mesones, once the acquisition of thee company is finalized by Buongiorno.

Inlet Technologies appointed Peter Cresse as Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Cresse will lead sales efforts for digital media encoding solutions for applications such as IPTV, post-production and new media distribution. Most recently Cresse served as president of Entropy, a consulting firm.
