MySpace Launches Online Voter Registration Drive
Los Angeles - MySpace announced on Wednesday that it has partnered with the nonpartisan group Declare Yourself to launch a voter registration drive on the online social network. MySpace is placing ads for the effort on its site, and offering "I Registered To Vote On MySpace" graphics for members' profile pages. Market research firm comScore Media Metrix estimates that 80% of MySpace's 114 million members are of legal voting age. Those interested in registering must do so soon, however, as many states' cut-off dates for registering new voters will come next week, a month before the Nov. 7 elections. http://tinyurl.com/ovfub http://www.declareyourself.org http://www.myspace.com/declareyourself
