IFILM, a division of Viacom's MTV Networks, announced today that Lowell Goss, the former head of user experience at Yahoo!, has been named Senior Vice President User Experience and Product Development. During his three years at Yahoo!, Goss created and managed a 45-person user experience design team for the Yahoo! Media Group business unit.

Airborne Entertainment, a subsidiary of CYBIRD Co., Ltd., announced today the addition of Angela Lauria as the General Manager of its Direct-to-Consumer Division. Lauria will lead Airborne Entertainment's Direct-to-Consumer Division with a focus on customer acquisition and retention, media buying and online marketing, in addition to managing the company's branded websites. Lauria was previously with Voxant, the world's first Viral Syndication Network for online news, where she served as the Director of Long Tail Marketing.

Burton Katz has signed on as Chief Executive Officer of digital entertainment company New Motion, parent company of MobileSidewalk. Previously Katz was President of Buongiorno’s North American operations and past executive of its U.K. operations.

a21, an online digital content marketplace, today announced that John Z. Ferguson has been appointed Chief Executive Officer and joins the company’s Board of Directors. Ferguson, who previously held senior management positions at Getty Images, will lead the company’s growth strategy of its worldwide digital media platform. In conjunction with this appointment, Philip N. Garfinkle, who has been serving as interim President and Chief Operating Officer, has been appointed Executive Chairman of a21 by its Board of Directors.

MTV Networks, a division of Viacom, yesterday announced that Braden Herman has been named Senior Vice President, Digital Advertising Operations. In his position, he will be responsible for optimizing MTVN's digital ad sales structure and enabling clients to effectively target audiences across the company's portfolio of brands. Herman will report to Hank Close, President, U.S. Ad Sales, MTV Networks. Herman previously served as Vice President of Advertising Sales for Advertising.com, where he led business intelligence and strategy for the company's sales division.




Electronic Arts announced yesterday the appointment of Hubert Larenaudie as President Online – Asia, responsible for EA’s online product, technology and distribution operations in the region. Larenaudie joins EA from Vivendi Universal Games where he was President for Asia-Pacific, successfully bringing to market online PC games from that company such as World of Warcraft and StarCraft.

Yesterday, Tanya Van Court was been named Senior Vice President, Preschool and Parents Online, Nickelodeon and MTVN Kids and Family Group. The announcement was made by Steve Youngwood, executive vice president, Digital Media, Nickelodeon and MTVN Kids and Family Group, to whom she will report. In her new role, Van Court will oversee strategy and operations, as well as creative and editorial content for Nickelodeon and MTVN Kids and Family Group preschool and parents online businesses. Most recently, Van Court served as Vice President, New Media Video Products at ESPN, where she led the launch of ESPN360, ESPN's broadband video and online gaming player. Van Court assumes the role formerly held by Kyra Reppen who was recently named Senior Vice President and General Manager of Neopets.

On2 Technologies, a video compression software and solutions provider, yesterday announced marketing and sales executive appointments. Samrat Vasisht has been named Vice President of Marketing, leading the company's global marketing initiatives across its product lines and market segments. Matthew Byrne has been named Senior Vice President of Mobile Sales, responsible for On2's mobile offerings to carriers, handset manufacturers, and mobile content providers. Prior to On2, Vasisht worked at Real Networks, Aura Communications, Motorola and Bose, and was the founder and president of Saral Networks. Byrne was previously at On2 from 2000 to 2003 as EVP of Global Sales.
