CNET Networks today announced that its board of directors has unanimously appointed Neil Ashe as the company's new Chief Executive Officer and Director effective immediately. Co-founder Shelby Bonnie has resigned as Chairman and CEO. Since joining CNET in 2002, Ashe has led the company's content expansion strategy, including numerous acquisitions. The company also announced that Jarl Mohn has been named Non-Executive Chairman of CNET’s board of directors. Bonnie resigns due to the options scandal that has shaken the company.

Tony Uphoff, Publisher of the Hollywood Reporter said Tuesday that he is leaving after less than a year on the job to return to work for CMP Technology in Irvine, California. Uphoff had succeeded Robert J. Dowling, who had been publisher and editor in chief at the Hollywood Reporter for nearly 18 years. Uphoff will be replaced by Billboard Publisher John Kilcullen. Billboard is a sister publication of the Hollywood Reporter under the Dutch media conglomerate VNU. Kilcullen has worked at Billboard for more than three years and will relocate to Los Angeles from New York.

THQ today announced that Timothy Campbell has been promoted to Vice President of Business Development. In this role, Campbell will continue to build publishing relationships with independent development teams, in addition to working to expand THQ's worldwide internal studio system. Campbell joined THQ in 2004 as director of business development. Campbell will report to Gary Rosenfeld, Senior Vice President of Business Development.

Interep, an independent advertising sales and marketing company, yesterday announced that George Pine will leave his position as President and Chief Operating Officer, effective immediately. Pine has taken a Voluntary Separation Agreement, which was offered in August to Interep employees over the age of 50 years old. Pine had been at the company for 33 years. A successor to Pine has not yet been named. Chairman & CEO Ralph Guild will temporarily oversee Pine's responsibilities. The company has hired an executive search firm, and expects to announce its plans to fill the position, internally or externally, by the end of the year.

McAfee, a provider of computer security software, today announced that its Board of Directors has named Dale Fuller as Interim Chief Executive Officer and President. Fuller joined McAfee’s board in January 2006 and served more than six years as Chief Executive Officer and President of Borland Software Corporation. The appointment of Fuller follows the retirement of George Samenuk as the company's Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer and the board's termination of the employment of Kevin Weiss as the company's President.

Greycroft Partners announced yesterday that Dana R. Settle and Andrew B. Lipsher have joined the venture capital firm as Partners. Settle is based out of Los Angeles, while Lipsher will be in New York. Settle has spent the majority of her career serving as an advisor or investor in startup companies in the media and communications industries. Lipsher has more than 14 years of media and entertainment, including having previously served as head of M&A, Corporate Development and Administration for Interscope Geffen A&M Records, a unit of the Universal Music Group.
