New York - Music Nation on Thursday announced plans to launch an online music video contest that will award three winners a recording contract with Sony BMG's Epic Records. Beginning in mid-November, musicians and bands can submit their music videos in Rock, Pop or Urban genres at MusicNation.com, or through local Clear Channel radio station websites. Entries received after Jan. 1, 2007 will require a $25 entrance fee.
Clear Channel will promote the contest on-air, as well as host weekly webisodes and feature the three winning acts on "Stripped," its in-studio performance series. New York-based Music Nation said it has also established partnerships with Mercury Records (Europe and Latin America) and Typhoon/EMI (Asia), and plans to expand its contest into other markets in 2007.
