Red Hill Group Launches Virtual Political Stock MarketAuthored by Mark Hefflinger on October 20, 2006 - 1:33pm.
Gaithersburg, Md. - Red Hill Group said that it has launched a website giving political aficionados the chance to express their opinions about who will win in November by buying and selling candidates in a virtual stock market. The site, CasualObserver.net, allows registered users to participate for free, sharing their opinions about who will win more than 70 of the most competitive mid-term Senate, House and governor's races across the nation. Users can "invest" in the candidates they deem most likely to win or lose, then follow the results online with real-time updates on prices and portfolio values. The site, which went live in September, recently launched a contest, awarding an iPod Nano to the top trader at the market close on Nov. 7.
