Los Angeles - LiveUniverse, a firm launched by MySpace parent company Intermix Media's founder Brad Greenspan, announced on Thursday that it has acquired a majority stake in Flurl.com, a Belgium-based independent video search site. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Flurl.com, which in addition to video also indexes images, audio and flash content, counted over 5.6 million unique users in September, according to Comscore -- an increase of about 75% since November 2005.

Los Angeles-based LiveSpace was created to focus on video, entertainment and social networking properties. In addition to Flurl.com, the company also owns social networking and video site Vidilife, which claims 2 million unique monthly visitors.
