Napster Launches Sponsored "Free Download of the Day"

Los Angeles - Napster announced on Tuesday the debut of a new sponsored "Free Download of the Day" feature on Napster.com. The feature will be sponsored for the first three months by Intel, whose Viiv technology will receive promotion on Napster during the sponsorship.

The first week will feature free downloads from independent label Sanctuary Records, including a track from Iron Maiden's latest album; other labels participating include the Independent Online Distribution Alliance (IODA), K7 Records, Indeyo Records, One Little Indian Records and Sarathan Records.

Each day's featured free download will also be archived and available for seven days.
