Cupertino, Calif. - Apple announced on Tuesday that it will ship its latest iPod shuffle model to retailers on Friday. The new player is half the size of the original -- which itself was the size of a pack of chewing gum -- taking up just half a cubic inch in volume, and weighing in at half an ounce. The new iPod shuffle, which will sell for $79, also features a built-in belt clip and 1GB of flash memory.
